William "Billy" Stephan Walter, age 79 of Biloxi, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021.


Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Francis M. "Shorty" Walter and Olga Egeditch Walter.


He is survived by his children, Michael S. (Amy) Covert of Texarkana, AR, Dana Walter (Gary) Slavett of Sherman Oaks, CA, William "Will" B. (Ashely) Walter of New Orleans, LA and Bryce Walter Mohon of Jacksonville, AL; his grandchildren, Remington and Riley Covert, Ryan and Sloane Slavett, and William and Brooks Walter; and his sister, Karen (Skipper) W. Vincent of Jacksonville, FL.


Billy is a native of Effingham, IL but graduated high school from Biloxi High. After graduating high school, he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from Tulane University and then his MBA from Jacksonville State University. Upon completing his MBA, he served in the US Army Reserves.


His professional life included sales, banking, a community college professor and was also a business owner. Billy was a superb athlete. He played shortstop and quarterback for the Biloxi High Indians and was a lifelong student and fan of those sports. His dad introduced him to Golf as a youngster, and in his prime he short rounds in the 80's. His interest in history, politics and his employment at the New Orleans FBI office at the time of Kennedy Assassination led to an ongoing interest in and contact with many of the conspiracy theorist and Warren Report cities.


A private burial will take place at a later date at Biloxi National Cemetery. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Biloxi, served the family. An online guestbook may be signed and memories shared at www.riemannfamily.com
