Victor Mose Brown, Sr. transitioned from this earthly plain on June 12, 2022, at the age of 82. Victor was an avid fisherman and lover of great music and good food. He worked for many years plying his trade as not only a chef but also as a carpenter, landscaper and of course fisherman. He was a lifelong member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Pass Christian, MS, and a Knight in the Order of the Knights of Peter Claver.
In his young adulthood, he was active in the local music scene on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and worked as crew with the renowned “Chitlin Circuit” tour across the South working with many, now legendary, musical acts of the 60s.
Victor is on his next journey meeting those who went before him. His parents, Charles Joseph Brown, Sr., and Madeline Victoria Benoit Brown; his cherished son, Victor Mose Brown, Jr.; his beloved sister, Marie (John) Brown Charlot; his brothers, Charles Joseph Brown, Jr, Daniel Brown Sr, and Edward Brown.
He paves the way into the next life for his devoted wife, Josephine Swanier Brown of Gulfport; three dedicated sons: Michael Brown Scott of Richmond, CA, Stephen L (Sabrina) Brown and Armand G Brown of Gulfport MS; one daughter, Kimberly Swanier (Anthony) Augustine of Marksville, LA.; three much loved sisters, Carolyn Brown (Rudy) Garrison of Atlanta, GA, Stephanie Brown (Otis) Brumfield of Pass Christian, MS and Arlene Brown of Long Beach, MS.
He gifts the world a legacy of five grandchildren, Jordan P. Brown of Decatur, GA, SSgt. Simone Swanier (Devon) Narcisse of Vacaville, CA, Savannah E. Brown of Columbus, GA, Karlos O. Jones of Starkville, MS and LaTrell D. Brown of Gulfport MS.
He also leaves behind a host of much-loved nieces, nephews, and great friends to celebrate his life and carry on his love of them all.
Visitation will be at 1:30 PM, Saturday, June 25, 2020, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, funeral service will begin at 2:00PM. Please visit www.riemannfamily.com where you can share memories and photos.
