Tim Gilbert, age 59 of Saucier, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Gilbert; his uncle, Bob Gilbert; father figure, Lawrence "Sonny" Hulick and numerous other aunts and uncles.

Tim is survived by his wife, Julie Gilbert; his children, Josh Gilbert, Michael (Caitlyn Goloman) Bernhart, Miranda (Jay Allen) Bernhart, and Mikayla (Caleb Stover) Bernhart; his mother, Clara Gilbert; his brother, Tommy (Sherry) Gilbert; his brothers by choice, William Malesev and Scott Scites; his sisters, Sandy (Curt) Smail and Cathy (John) Rubacha; grandchildren, Raylynn Gilbert, Jace Bernhart, Alayna Goloman, Boden Bernhart, Jaliyah Allen, Julanni Allen, Harlem Allen, Dominic Stover, and Memphis Stover; his nieces and nephews, Amber (Matt) Parker, Krista (Joe) Beyer, Corie (Ralph) Montecino, Kelly (Matt) Thomas, Michelle (Patrick) Hachey, Scott (Vinita) Gilbert, the late Keith (Krista) Gilbert, Roger (Johnna Gilbert), David Rubacha and Jill Rubacha; his grandchildren by choice, William Malesev, Jr., Shea (Doug) Mills, Austin Scites, and Mercedes Scites;  and lifelong friends, Rick and Gina Gertzel, Jeff Liston, Jeff Hulick, Ray (Sandy) Price, David Moser and Buck.

Tim grew up Abingdon, IL, where he spent his free time at Galesburg Aviation.  He loved everything to do with airplanes, especially flying them. While growing up on the MS River, Tim often went fishing with his Uncle Bob.  He also enjoyed to bow hunt, tagging many Illinois White Tail Deer. Tim could fix about anything from small engines to large jobs and everything in between.  He was a true gearhead and loved Mopar cars.  Being an extrovert, he never met a stranger. Tim loved playing practical jokes on his friends. He loved to make people laugh and children loved being around him. Named by his nieces and nephews, Tim was affectionately called "Uncle Turkey Farmer." Tim took each and every child that wanted to go turkey hunting into the wilderness to experience nature firsthand. It was not uncommon to find Tim playing "Hide and Seek" in the dark with the kids, chasing Fireflies or being the dinosaur on the floor. He was in essence "Peter Pan" and could connect with children wherever they were in that moment of time. He loved his wife, Julie, and spoiled her dearly.

Shade Tree Airport on Hwy. 53 in Lyman/Gulfport was very important to Tim and Julie. They were and are their extended family, and Julie would be lost without them. Tim leaves behind the following friends there at Shade Tree: Danny and Janet Miller, Jimmy Miller, Beth Miller Drake, Seth Peterson, Jennifer Roth, Antonio Herrman, Mark Stevens, Larry Loeden, Mark (Sarah) Fabiano, Rene Niolet, Robin Doyle, Jay Botsay, Jerry Maldin, George and Judy Hill, Jay Knowls, Sterling Blackham, Francisco and Rosemary Gonzalez and Allen Wiggins.
