Terry Rush

Terry Albert Rush of Long Beach was gently passed into the hands of God on November 22, 2021, in Long Beach.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gale Albert Rush and Nudean Amanda Wilson Rush; his sister, Charlotte Rush Waisner; and his long-time partner, Robert “Bob” Haney.

Terry is survived by his husband, Jim Dalrymple of Long Beach; his daughters, Shelley (Jenny) Dalrymple of Long Beach, Gay (Terry) Landsdowne of Pelham AL; his son, Perry (Tanya) Dalrymple of St. Joseph, MO; his nieces, Debbie King and Mary Alice (Belinda) Waisner; his nephew, Larry (Laverta) Waisner of OH; his grandchildren, Beth (Robert) Walley of Amarillo, TX, Erin (Brooks) Smith of Wiggins, Corey Floyd of Long Beach, Seth (Sara) Lansdowne of Olive Branch, Emmy Dalrymple and Owen Dalrymple, both of St. Joseph, MO; his great-grandchildren, Emma, Maddie, Amelia, Vance, and Laleh.

Terry was born on September 15, 1937 in Wooster, OH. He graduated from Washington High School in Massillon, OH, and Heidelberg University in Tiffen, OH.

He began his career in interior design at Halle Brother’s Department Store in Cleveland, OH, followed by employment at New Idea in New Orleans, LA. He was co-owner of the Golden Parrot Gift Shop in Waveland.

Terry lived a full and joyful life. He enjoyed gardening, travel, and loved his family and friends.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Bert Chevis and Dr. Jay Libys for their care over the years. They also wish to acknowledge the thoughtful and loving care of Southern Care Hospice, especially Chris Radix, Kelli Gray, and Sam Rogers. They were truly angels in a time of need.

Services will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, Bay St. Louis, on Friday, March 25, 2022. The visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the celebration of life service following at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be in the church memorial garden.
