Sandra Price

September 17, 1945 — June 20, 2022

Ocean Springs

Sandra Joyce Price, age 76, went to be with her Savior, and her beloved husband Tom, on June 20, 2022, with her family by her side.

Born Sandra Williamson on Sept. 17, 1945, in Many, La., to Judge G. and Marnee Williamson, she spent her formative years in the Lake Charles, La., area. At the age of 13, she would meet a young man by the name of Tom Price, then 15 years of age. She would say many times over the years she knew instantly the strapping young man would be the man she would marry.

And marry they did, on Oct. 1, 1963. The first of their three daughters, Dawn, would arrive in 1965, followed by Angela in 1967, both born in Lake Charles, with youngest Shari born in Billings, Montana in 1970.

An avid photographer, Sandra worked for the Lake Charles American Press and then for Montgomery Wards after she and Tom moved with the girls to Billings, where Tom was working in the refinery business.

After many years in Billings, they made the decision to return south, arriving in Ocean Springs, Miss., in 1989 and opening The Golf Center retail shop in 1990. Sandra and Tom (who passed in August of last year) settled into a home on Davis Bayou and would remain in Ocean Springs for the remainder of their lives.

A woman of devout, unwavering faith, Sandra was dedicated to her church, Grace Independent Baptist Church in Ocean Springs, as well as her five grandchildren of who she once said “there is nothing more important to me than my grandchildren getting into heaven.” She meant it.

After The Golf Center closed in the mid-90s, Tom returned to the refinery business, which took he and Sandra to temporary assignments in Long Beach, Calif., and Corpus Christi, Texas, but Ocean Springs remained home. Sandra and Tom also traveled extensively over the years, with overseas trips to Italy, the Caribbean, and Greece, Sandra’s personal favorite. They also took several cross country trips, including one memorable trip with their eldest grandchild, Wyatt, which included a stop in legendary Tombstone, Ariz.

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; her parents, Judge G. and Marnee Williamson; and a brother, Judge R. Williamson. She is survived by her three daughters: Dawn, Angela and Shari; brothers Earnie Williamson and Dennis (Becky) Williamson; and her five grandchildren who were her greatest treasure: Wyatt, Cody and Sydney Kulo; and James and Lauren Raybon.
