Ruth Lipscomb

Ruth C. Lipscomb, age 97, of Long Beach, passed away on March 26, 2020.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Milton B. Lipscomb; her parents, Lonnie and Pauline Cribbs; her four sisters, Louise Davis, Sandra Cribbs, Mary Rawls Hannah, and Imogene Pressnell.

She is survived by her children, Peggy L. Guin, Patricia Crim-Iannacone (Eddie), and William L. Lipscomb; her eight grandchildren; her sixteen great grandchildren; her ten great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth was born in Athens, Alabama.  Once married, she resided in Birmingham, Alabama, for 44 years before moving to Long Beach.  She made Long Beach her home for 31 years.

Ruth was a devoted, loving wife and beloved family matriarch.  She had a long career as Vice President of the Birmingham Credit Union. She was an avid reader.  Her many interests included bridge, square dancing, and travel.  She was an active member of many clubs and organizations.

Due to the current situation in our community, the family is holding a private graveside gathering on Saturday, March 28, 2020.  A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
