Ronald Dye

Ronald Keith Dye, age 73, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020, in Gulfport, MS.

Born September 12, 1946, he was a native and lifelong resident of Gulfport.

Ronnie, as he was called, was a Master Carpenter and Home Builder on the Mississippi Coast for over 50 years. He was a Mason, Shriner, and Jester. He had many talents, like being able to work on and fix anything,” a jack of all trades”, as we would say. He loved horse racing and raced and owned many race horses throughout his life. He loved to go to the Neshoba County Fair every year and race his horses. He still holds many records there. He loved attending the Dixie Nationals in Jackson also and visiting with his many friends in the Blue Room. He loved watching Nascar (with his best buddy Joel Ladner) and pulling for Kyle Busch (he always said Kyle Busch was rowdy like him).

Ronnie had an amazing personality and sense of humor with a "Tell it like it is" attitude. He always had a gift of telling a story in a way that kept you captivated. He will be missed by his family, friends and all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Annie Dodd Dye; his brothers, Wade Evans, Donald Evans, Charlie Dye, and Dewey Dye; his sisters, June Ryan and Iris Sellers; and his beloved grandson, Dustin Blake Dye.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Dye of Gulfport; his sons, Keith (Diane) Dye of Gulfport, Ronald (Shilona) Dye of Saucier; his daughter, Melissa (Keith) Moore of Gulfport; his stepdaughter Alanda (Bob) Markee of Corvallis Oregon; his cherished grandchildren, Candace Dye, Michael Dye, Amber Dye, Haley Dye, Jake Moore and Brandon Moore; his great grandchildren, Bryson Allen, and the youngest, Mallory Shane, who always cheered him up every day even though she is only 20 months old by asking him “Pawpaw, what you doing?”; his sisters, Rose (Ralph) Keener of San Antonio, lyla Margaret ( Alberto ) Murillo of San Antonio, Alice ( Kenneth ) Bourque of Gulfport, Carolyn ( Manuel ) Seymour of Gulfport, Illa (Willie) Perez of Gulfport and Francis (Herman) Cortez of Des Allemands, LA; a special person who he thought of as a son Phillip “Red” Mercer; and many nieces and nephews.
