She is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Margaret Kopszywa; her paternal grandfather, Walter Kopszywa; and her aunt, Wuanita Mendoza.

Leaving behind to cherish her memory,  her loving husband and best friend of over 20 years, Will Patrick; her mother, Shelley Kopszywa; father, Rick Kopszywa; and her three sons whom she adored, Avery Patrick (age 17), Grayson Patrick (age 14), and Harper Patrick (age 5); one sister, Jennifer Ilsley, husband Tim and her nephew Ty Ilsley; and her brother, Nathan Kopszywa; several other relatives including, her maternal grandparents, Ray and Phyllis Davidson; aunts and uncles, Dianna and Joe Gonzales, Kelle and Greg Walters, Shannon and Anita Davidson, Linda Kopszywa, Julie Roberts, Maria Decker, and Al Kopszywa as well as numerous, cousins, relatives and friends who will each miss her deeply.

A native of D’Iberville and longtime resident of Ocean Springs, Richelle graduated from D’Iberville High School in 1998, then she proudly earned her Bachelor of Business Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2004. In 2018, she began her next journey to be a nurse and was one month shy of finishing her first year when she was diagnosed in March 2019. She was also a certified fitness instructor and a successful business owner of ten years.  She has been a member of Mosaic Church in Ocean Springs, MS for over a decade and loved the Lord and her church family.

For Richelle, spending time with her boys, Avery, Grayson and Harper and her husband Will, and sharing family traditions with their extended family was what was most important to her.  She was an amazing organizer and she enjoyed gardening and fitness.

Richelle’s family has so much gratitude and could not possibly thank all of the hundreds of people who have provided support, prayers and outreach to her family during the last year and a half.  We are forever grateful.  One of Richelle’s favorite verses which provided her encouragement throughout her journey is “Nothing can separate us from the Love of God.” Romans 8:38

Richelle loved nurturing and growing plants, and potting flowers.  In lieu of floral stands, consider sending a plant or potted floral arrangement that can be shared with many family members as a memorial to her.

A visitation for friends will take place at Mosiac Church located at 2016 Bienville Blvd. Ocean Springs on Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. The Celebration of Richelle’s Life will begin at 12:00 p.m. The service will be live streamed by the church beginning at 12 p.m. at the following link: https://www.facebook.com/PrayersForRichelle

Out of respect for the current pandemic, everyone is asked to follow social distancing guidelines and masks are required when you are moving, but once you are seated, you may remove your mask if you wish.

She will be laid to rest next to her grandmother at D’Iberville Memorial Park in D’Iberville immediately following celebration. Due to the pandemic, this will be a private graveside service.
