Richard "Rick" and Linda McCarthy

d. November 2, 2021

Biloxi

Richard "Rick" George McCarthy and Linda Ann McCarthy, ages 78 (Rick) and 77 (Linda), residents of Biloxi, MS, both passed away of natural causes on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 in Biloxi.

Rick lived in Fall River Massachusetts until joining the military. His first assignment was in Biloxi, MS which is where he met Linda and they have lived ever since.  Rick holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. Rick is a retired veteran of the United States Air Force and then retired from the Civil Service as Training Manager. Linda worked at the Bureau of Marine Resources where she was a purchasing agent.

Rick and Linda simply enjoyed life. They spent most of their time with family which made them the happiest. You could not be in a room with either of them without hearing stories of how proud they were of their children, grandchildren and great-grands. They loved hosting friends and family in their backyard cooking out and having everyone over for their Christmas Eve party. When not together, you could always find Linda with her girlfriends playing cards or bunko. She loved her friends like family and rarely missed her weekly card games. Rick enjoyed working in their yard if he wasn’t out on the water fishing with his sons or lifelong buddies. Their story is a simple one that ended in most beautiful way possible. It’s not often you live with your soulmate your entire life and then, within hours of each other, leave together by natural causes. A true fairy tale.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mental Health Association of South Mississippi.

Preceding them in death are Linda’s parents, Henry Paul Webster and Annie Lil Murphy Webster; Linda’s brothers, Roy Webster and Tommy Webster; and Rick’s parents, Richard George McCarthy and Alice Yvonne McCarthy.

Survivors include their three children, Richard “Rick” George McCarthy, III (Kim Lawson), Gregory Michael McCarthy (Ashley Winburn), and Kelly McCarthy Williams (Jay Williams); Grandchildren, Alexandria Brady (Justin), Connor Webb (Kyra), Jenna Williams, Zachary McCarthy, London Williams, Anna Williams, Kourtney Lawson, Kelsey Lawson, and Dyllan Harper; Great-grandchildren: Jaxon Brady, Couper Brady, Kayleigh-Grace Tillman, and Kennedy Tillman; Linda’s Sister,  Peggy Webster King, (Jack); and Rick’s siblings,  Judy Andrade (Ron), Connie Lavoie (Al), Jackie Kalafarski, and Kevin McCarthy.
