Raymond Palomino a native of Las Animas, Colorado, and longtime resident of Gulfport, passed away at home on Saturday, January 3, 2021. His family is comforted that he has reunited with Betty, his beloved and much missed wife of 63 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty W. Palomino; parents, Adolph and Ramona Palomino; siblings, Benjamin Palomino, Charles Palomino, Cathy Province, and Samuel Palomino; and grandson in law, Jim Farsaci.
Ray is survived by his children, Ramona (James) Rishel, David (Teresita) Palomino, Richard (Pamelia) Palomino, and Anita (Andre) Champagne; sister, Irene (Jesse) Garcia; grandchildren, Beth Farsaci, Grace (Grier) Simmons, Cristina (Nick) Robson, Angel (Liz) Palomino, Raymond (Jen) Palomino, Alex Palomino, Isabel Palomino, and Aimee (Tyler White) Champagne; great grandchildren, Ethan and Joey Farsaci, Breanna, Tyler, Violet, and Olivia Robson, Arianna, Jaxson, and Lilliana Palomino, Tessa, Katie, Jaston, and Peanut, and Gabriella Palomino; and great great grandchild, Dekland Ray.
Ray proudly and skillfully served our country in the United States Air Force for 26 years as a radio operator, serving all over the world, including in both Korea and Vietnam. Despite his success in the Air Force, those who knew him know that he saw his family as his greatest achievement. He married the love of his life, Betty, in 1954 and together they met the challenges of military life and lovingly and proudly raised their four children. Never one to slow down, after retiring Ray enjoyed a second career as a small business owner. He traveled the country with Betty to reunite yearly with his fellow USAF veterans and to be there for his grandchildren as they grew, played, graduated and had children of their own.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at 11:30am, with the visitation for family and friends beginning at 9:30am, both at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvior Rd., Biloxi. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
