Peggy Harvey

Peggy Sullivan Harvey, age 90 of Gulfport since 1954, left her earthly home and entered her eternal home with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 16, 2020.

She was a native of Smith County, MS, and a graduate of Mize High School, Jones Junior College, and attended the University of Southern Mississippi. She was a retired Employment Interviewer with the Mississippi State Employment Service.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Ross C. Harvey; her parents, Mr. Napoleon A. “Pollie” Sullivan and Annie (Wells) Sullivan of Mize, MS; her two brothers, Arnold Sullivan and Thomas “TJ” Sullivan; and her five sisters, Ulma Giglio, Addie (Pat) Sullivan, Nezzie Allgood, Ruby Gay Cooper, and Grace Riley.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sheila Graves (Jimmy) and their sons, Stephen (Kymberly) and Ryan (Jenny), all of Tylertown, MS, Sandra Yochum (Alex) and their children, Jeremy, of Augusta, GA, and Tara and Elora, of New York, NY; her sister, Joyce Jones (James) of Magee, MS; and one great granddaughter, Adalin Darlene Graves of Tylertown, MS.

Peggy was a faithful charter member of Bel-Aire Baptist Church. She and Ross ministered to those who were in the hospital or shut in. She continued this ministry once Ross passed away. Her special touch was to present a red rose bud, along with a copy of the poem, “The Rose”, and to pray for each individual she visited.

Peggy loved music and played the piano throughout her life and played at home, at church, and at Provision Living in Hattiesburg.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 22, 2020, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, with a visitation from 10:00 AM until the service. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport.
