Paul Stephen “Steve” Wood, 71, passed away on September 19, 2022 at his home in Pascagoula, MS. Mr. Wood was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 1, 1950, and grew up in Moss Point, MS.

He was a loving husband to his wife of 51 years, Alta Davis Wood and was an active member of St. Pierre’s Episcopal Church in Gautier, MS. He had a passion for classical music and enjoyed playing piano. He sang in performances with Musica Sacra of Mobile, Alabama and Singing River Chorale in Pascagoula, Mississippi. He enjoyed traveling and loved being with his family.

Mr. Wood is preceded in death by his parents Charlotte Ryder Wood and Albert G Wood; and one sister, Melody Moore.

He is survived by his birth mother, Frankie Baker Lindsey, wife, Alta Davis Wood of Pascagoula; two daughters, Jennifer Prather (Allen Prather); Amber Jones (Robert Jones); three grandchildren, Kaylyn Gartrell (Chase Gartrell), Drake Jones, and Dawson Jones; two brothers, Bill Lindsey (Phillis Lindsey), and Donald Lindsey (Pam Lindsey), a brother n law, Treadwell Davis, Jr. (Lori Davis), and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2022, at St. Pierre’s Episcopal Church, Gautier, Mississippi, followed by interment at St. Pierre’s Episcopal Church in Gautier, Mississippi.
