We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Riemann Family Funeral Homes - Biloxi
Sidney Roy Langson, age 92, a resident of Biloxi passed away surrounded by family August 3, 2022 in Ocean Springs, MS.
Sidney was born in Muskegon, MI. In 1938 he moved to England where he met his wife, Joan. In 1951 he joined the American Army in the M-26 Tank Section, 2nd Battalion 2nd Armored Cavalry allowing him and Joan to move to America where he became a long time resident of Biloxi and retired from Ingalls as a pipefitter.
Sid and Joan shared a deep and inseparable love. Their home was always open and made to feel welcome. Sid was always the first to offer you a glass of whiskey or a cold beer. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, known as “Gramps,” “Super Gramps” or “Ole Bean.” Together they raised a great family and sponsored multiple family members from England to America. He became a gramps to many grandchildren’s’ friends all the way to Texas. Every time one of his loved ones tried to leave, he would jokingly say “no one loves me anymore”. In return, he would give you a big hug and kiss, and tell you goodbye. He will be deeply missed as the head of our family, but he will live on in our memories.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Taylor Langson; son, Ty Langson; son-in-law, Troy Lee Jones II; parents, James and Lilly Cook Langson; and 7 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Dawn; son, Sidney B. Langson (Billie); daughter-in-law, Cathy; grandchildren, Nicole (Chad), Amber (Corey), Jennifer (Scott), Cayla, Kristin, Lauren (Cory), Morgan, Brandon; great-grandchildren; Alyah, Marzae, Olivia, Vance, Malaejah, JayDe, Aubrey, Avelynn, Juddson; and sister, Alice.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 8, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Rd. Biloxi, MS.
