Mildred Little

October 18, 1931 — November 16, 2021

Saucier

Mildred Louise Little, 90, of Saucier, MS passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Singing River Hospital in Gulfport, MS. She passed away peacefully and comfortably surrounded by family. Mildred’s wishes were to have no services. Her wishes were to be cremated and have her ashes scattered around the friendship oak, when that time comes anyone who wishes is more than welcome to join us on that day.

Mildred Louise Little was born in Benton, AR on October 18, 1931 to the late Marv Griffin and Viola Simmons. She moved to Mississippi in 1976 and loved it so much, especially the coast, that it became home for the rest of her life. Mildred was very proud of her children and grandchildren and loved nothing more than spending time with family. She enjoyed reading, cooking, an occasional trip to the casino, a good cozy blanket, and watching CNN. She really loved the holidays and was a lover of all thing’s nature. Mildred loved every person that she knew and everyone that knew her, loved her too. Anytime she met someone new, no matter who it was, she would always say, “just call me Grandma.” We are sure that she was Grandma to at least half of the coast!

Mildred is preceded in death by her father, Marv Griffin; her mother, Viola Simmons; her children, Michael Broughton, Terry Broughton, Jake Broughton, and Lynne Hurst; and a grandchild, Dakota Broughton.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Lea Ann Crosby (David) of Saucier, MS: a son, Alvin Broughton (Martha) of Monrovia, IN: her daughter-in-law, Billy Broughton of Germany; sixteen grandchildren: Jennifer Berger/Broughton (Josef), Kerstin Broughton (Peter), Ryan Broughton (Jennifer), Tanya Broughton, Shaun Broughton, Danny Broughton, Hailey Crosby (Allison), Hollie Denning (Brien), Brasen Crosby, Bralynne Crosby, Sara Herrington, Stephanie Herrington, Ricky Bandy, Ricky Benvenutti, Brent Benevenutti, and Amanda Rockwell; her step son, David Broughton; and several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport, is serving the family.
