Michael Douglas James, age 63 of Gulfport, MS passed away suddenly on Monday, February 10, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his father, Archie H. James; his mother, Nola Young James; his father in law, Huey P. Landry; and his mother in law, Elizabeth Angelo Landry.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 6 ½ years, Debra Landry James; his daughter, Jessica James Meaut; his stepdaughter, Ingrid Anderson; his grandson, Ethan Ryan Meaut; his step grandson, Xavi Quinn Martinez; his nephew, Jim Varnado; his brother in law, William H. Brandt; and his sister in law, Linda Landry Brandt.
He was employed at Sterling Pharmaceuticals for 30 years and Memorial Hospital at Gulfport for 14 years. Michael was a member of Gulf Haven Mennonite Church. He enjoyed hiking, gem mining, kayaking, gardening, weather watching, waterfall chasing, camping, and blue grass music.
Michael was a kind and compassionate man. He was also a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He was also known by many workers at Memorial Hospital as saying, “Let ya know by 3:30 Friday.” Michael loved the mountains of North Carolina and Georgia and was a true lover of nature.
He devotedly loved and served God. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Debra Ann “Dixie”, his family, and his many friends. Heaven has truly received another Angel.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 15, 2020, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, with a visitation from 9:00 AM until the service.
