Mary Avalos

Mary Jane Avalos-Walker, age 57, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Walker and Nora G. Cardenas; her brothers, Joe Walker and James Walker; and her sister, Pamela Cardenas.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann Avalos-Raya; her son, James Edwards Turrubiartes; her daughter-in-law, Devin Mallet; and her grandchildren, Natalie Rose Turrubiartes, Wesley Cole Mallet, and Jasen Lane Bodie.

She was a native of Crystal City, Texas and received her cosmetology license from Vernon Regional Junior College in Vernon, Texas. She enjoyed working as a waitress at El Maguey. Mary attended Our Lady of Fatima on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Mary touched many lives and was always willing to give to others. We would like to thank everyone for everything that you all have done for her. We cannot say thank you enough. God Bless all of Mary’s friends and family.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 1, 2021, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport.
