Ocean Springs

Marilyn "Mikki" Alice (Miller) Satterfield age 72, of Ocean Springs, passed away, Wednesday, May 13, 2020.

Marilyn, first and foremost, was a Christ follower and that influenced every other aspect of her life as wife, mother, teacher, and friend. She had a special calling to love and serve the disenfranchised and influenced countless lives in doing so. She enjoyed church fellowship and ministry, gardening, painting, and Bible study. To her it was little things that were important, not the big things. She leaves behind a legacy of the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Her view of life was: Love God, love one another, and be kind.

She was born October 25, 1947, in Hopkinsville, KY and married to Paul Parsons Satterfield March 15, 1974.

She attended Shades Valley High School, Birmingham, AL, 1965; Auburn University, Auburn AL; and Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, TN, 2005. She was employed by Brentwood Academy, Brentwood, TN, as a Teacher and Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, TN, as an Adjunct Professor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Parsons Satterfield and her parents, Henry and Martha (Meriwether) Miller.

She is survived by her children, Evan North (Angela) Satterfield of Murfreesboro, TN, and Emily Tyer Satterfield of Ocean Springs, MS; her grandchildren, Jackson, Sophia, and Samson Satterfield of Murfreesboro, TN; and her brother, Henry Ross (Norene) Miller.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in honor of Marilyn to First Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs, “Helping Hands Ministry” 921 Ocean Avenue, Ocean Springs MS 39564 or www.fpcosms.com.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, West Jackson County is serving the family.
