Louise Y. Smith, age 74, of Long Beach, passed away on July 2, 2022, at her home in Long Beach, MS.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Frank Smith; her father, Horren Burvis Yeager; her mother, Vera Bryant Yeager; her sisters, Sarah Yeager Tyler and June Yeager Smith; and a brother, Horren R. Yeager.
Mrs. Smith is survived by 2 sons, Clay Smith (Kelli) and Glen Smith (Renee); a sister, Cheryl Yeager Bennett; 5 grandchildren, Cory Smith (Haley), Chase Smith (Jayme), Gabriel Smith (Cassidy), Jessie Smith, and Katelyn Smith; 4 great-grandchildren, Brynley, Bailey, Lylah, and Avah; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was a native of Pascagoula, MS and later was a 1965 graduate of Taylorsville High School, Taylorsville, MS. Louise was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was know to them as “Gran” or “Gmaw.” She was a lifelong member of the Methodist church, a former member of the Baton Rouge Women’s Tennis Association, and a long time bowler and member of USBC. Her favorite things to do were league bowling and traveling to participate in bowling tournaments with friends.
A memorial service will be held in Baton Rouge at a later date.
