Leopold St. Pierre

May 23, 1933 — July 21, 2020

Pass Christian

Leopold J. St. Pierre, Jr., age 87 of Pass Christian, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2020.

L J was a native of Edgard, LA, was a graduate of Holy Cross Catholic School in New Orleans, and attended Texas A&M. He was a proud Marine who trained at Parris Island, SC.

For thirty plus years, L J was employed with E I Depont de Nemours; first with the Pontchartrain Plant and then he transferred for the startup of the DeLisle Plant. After retirement in 1995, he worked as a security guard for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leopold J. St. Pierre, Sr.; his mother, Marjorie Hymel St. Pierre; his daughter, Kim Schexnayder; and his son, Gregory A. St. Pierrre.

L J is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sandra Cox St. Pierre; his four children, Penny Perret (Mickey), Robin Delahoussaye, Jill Davis (Danny), Christa Gaspar; his four stepchildren, Susan Case (Guy), Dianna McNally, Angel Palmer, and Bracey Summers (Bridget); his former wife, Gloria Cervantes; his 18 grandchildren, Nicole Miller, Christopher Schexnayder, Matthew Perret, Taylor Delahoussaye, Kyle Gaspar, Connor Davis, Mason Gaspar, Bradley Case, Sean Case, Bobby McNally, Jason Case, Lauren McNally, Emma Palmer, Will Lozana, Andrew Palmer, Olivia Palmer, Tristan Summers, and Serenity Summers; and five great grandchildren, Devin and Noah Schexnayder, Eva Perret, Dylan Miller, and Hunter McNally.

Making the best wine from any and all fruit, especially from his vineyard, was one of his proudest accomplishments. Fishing was his first interest and he owned two boats; one was a working shrimp boat, “Ms Nikki”, named after his oldest granddaughter, and the second was a pleasure boat, “The White Lightening”. He loved the Saints and loved LSU more!

L J helped anyone in need. He volunteered at St Paul Cemetery for many years. He also delivered meals to shut-ins for Feed My Sheep. He was actually offended when he was rejected from driving cancer patient to their appointments because he was too old. He was a devoted Catholic, loved God, and loved his religion. Being a devoted son and husband who loved his children and step-children and being a very attentive grandfather were his finest traits.

Leopold Joseph St Pierre, Jr was a kind hearted and generous man. He was, simply a good man.

The family’s heartfelt and sincere love and thanks go to the angels and staff of Dixie White House Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pass Christian, who went over and beyond the expected.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 27, 2020, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Pass Christian, with a visitation from 10:00 AM until the mass. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
