Gulfport

Lawson “Larry” Emerson Gallotte, Jr., 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on the morning of Saturday, May 16th. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawson Emerson Gallotte, Sr. and Frances Maxine Sherrell Gallotte.

Larry was born on December 17, 1937 in Brookhaven, MS. He served in the United States Army from 1956-1959. Most of his career was spent in financial and real estate businesses. He was previously on the staff of two governors and a member of the American Legion and Lions Club. Larry was a devout Christian who attended Campground Baptist Church in Gulfport, spent every morning reading the Bible, and spread the Lord’s word from Romans 10:9, “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Larry is loved and survived by his wife, Janelle Gallotte, who cherished thirty-eight years of marriage together; his six children, Cindy (Mike) Shaw, Larry (Beverly) Gallotte, Michael (Summer) Gallotte, Mike (Phyllis) Parks, Kim (Kirk) Ladner, and Michelle (Eddie) Pryor who cherish the memories and guidance of their father; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved listening to Grandad’s stories; and a special cousin, Lynn Hogg.

Services will be held for the family on Monday, May 18, at Southern Memorial Park Cemetery at 2:00. Larry is loved, respected, and greatly missed by family and friends. Revelation 21:4, "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
