Judith M. Cuevas, age 72, peacefully and unexpectedly passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson.
Judy led a full, busy life. She tried and succeeded at many jobs throughout the years. Judy was always up for an adventure and led all of us by example. The many who hold a memory of her opinions and advice are much better for it.
She was an avid reader, puzzle solver, and crafter. Judy always enjoyed music, dancing, family and friends, and was a devoted girls’ basketball fan.
Judy and her beloved husband of 51 years, Preston, are once again dancing. She is also preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth Wilson; her brothers, Robert, Ottis, Kenneth, Phillip “Buzzy”, and Frank Wilson; and her son-in-law, Conway Ladner.
She is survived by her four children and spouses, Saranda (Kelvin), Preston John (Marie), Jarrod (Sonja), and Dewanna Kowalski; her 13 grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Byron, Preston, Brittany, Dereck, Ashley, Caleb, Rian, Katelyn, Alex, Alexis, Brayden, Devin, and Emily; her 23 great grandchildren, who will continue to be guided by her love and expectations; her sisters, Bertha Redmond (Leland) and Myra Whitten; her brother, Billy Jack Wilson (Valleria); her cherished sisters-in-law, Lola Dean, Gloria, Charlotte, Kathy, and Claudia; along with numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Judy would remind us all not to grieve too long. She said she was “Right with the Lord and Ready”. She expects us to gather, laugh, and share our memories with each other.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 1, 2020, at her residence (28503 J.P. Ladner Rd., Pass Christian, MS 39571), with a visitation from 12:00 PM until the service.
In lieu of flowers, Judy requested that donations be made to the following charities: The Juvenile Diabetes Association, The Children’s Hospital of New Orleans, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, is serving the family.
