Jewell Angle

Jewell Smith Angle, age 92, passed away on February 3, 2020, with her daughter by her side.

Jewell was born on February 5, 1927, in Magee, MS, and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Nannie Lou Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Angle, Sr. to whom she was happily married for 61 years; her brothers, Durwood Smith, Jack Smith and Leland Smith; and her wonderful sister, Virginia Runnels.

She is survived by her three children, William Thomas Angle Jr (Chris), Angela Murello, and Edwin Charles Angle. She adored her five grandchildren, Scott Angle (Cindy), Jacob Angle (Casey), Heather Angle, Jennifer Green (Danny), and Haleigh McNabb (Ryan); and her honorary "grandson" Greg Smith (Angie). Nothing made her happier than being with her 10 great grandchildren.

Jewell retired from civil service at Keesler Medical Center after 20 years. Jewell's warmth and passion for life was legendary. She never met a stranger that she didn't want to feed or help, and everyone who met her, loved her. During her husband’s 26 years in the Air Force, she had the opportunity to travel, meet, and love so many people that she remained close to. Jewell loved cooking, baking, and feeding everyone, which was her true passion. She was fortunate in life to have so many people who loved her.

The family sends special thanks to her loving daughter, Angie who took such good care of her; Voncile Gray, another loving caretaker, and the wonderful staff at SAAD’s Healthcare, including Gloria, Lexi, Betty, and Jessica. Their support and care of our beloved mother was a true blessing.
