Isidro Pastrano

Isidro Pastrano “Izzy” 82, of Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on June 5th, 2021, in Biloxi.

Izzy was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, he was an outstanding track star at Sidney Lanier High School, running his best time of 4:32 in the mile race. Izzy graduated from Lanier High School and then entered military service in the US Army 82nd airborne, followed by service in the US Air Force, US Air Force Reserves, the US Army Corps of Engineers and FEMA (including the Katrina hurricane disaster recovery for New Orleans) after retiring from the military. In retirement, he continued to serve as a volunteer at the VFW and as a member of the VFW Honor Guard. Izzy was known and loved by everyone for his big smile, his playful nature, and his willingness to help a friend or neighbor whenever and wherever needed.

He is survived by his wife, Elisabeth Pastrano; his son, Scott Pastrano; and his sister, Regina Pastrano-Padilla.

A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 9th, 2021, at Biloxi National Cemetery, with military honors.
