Helen Geneva “Susie” Franklin, age 82 of Lyman, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James B. “Jim” Franklin; her father, Horace Lee Clark; her mother, Lillie Mae Clark; her sisters, Myrna Reeves and Bobbie Marello; and her brother, Jimmy “Bo” Clark.

Helen is survived by her son, Bryan D. Franklin; and her “daughter she never had” Vicky Hickman; her grandchildren, Breanna Malley (Josh) and Ashley Hickman (Nick Hinton); her great grandchildren, Taylor Horner, Addie Shelby, Kaizleigh, and Addy and Allie Malley; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She retired from Harrison County School District and was a member of Nugent United Methodist Church since she was a small child.  She was active with St. Jude Charity and had a great love for children.

Susie never met a stranger and was a great friend to all who knew her; especially her best friend of 50 plus years, Betty Yarbrough.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, dirt track car racing, camping, fishing, cooking, swimming, and had a green thumb for gardening.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Kare-in-Home Hospice for the utmost care.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Finley Cemetery.

Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport, is serving the family.
