Fred Mitchell

Fred Mitchell, age 83, of Biloxi passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022.

Fred was born on August 27, 1939, in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to Fred Henry Mitchell and Imogene “Julia” Fishel. He earned an associate degree in Computer Programming and joined the United States Air Force, where he served from 1957 until 1979. Fred later worked at the Beau Rivage Casino in Slot Guest Services. He was a member of Cedar Lake Methodist Church.

Fred was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Fishel; his stepfather, Albert Fishel; and his brother Robert Mitchell.

Fred is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Mitchell; his children, Robert and Merlina Mitchell (St. Martin), Ronald and Shelia Mitchell (Biloxi), and Stephen Mitchell (Seattle, WA); brother Ronald Fishel (Chris); and his grandchildren, Caroline Mitchell, Chase Patterson, and Ashley Mitchell.

Visitation will be 10:00 -11:00 am, Monday, November 21, 2022 at Cedar Lake Methodist Church in Biloxi. A funeral service will be after the visitation at 11am. Interment is at Southern Memorial Park.
