Diamondhead

Frank A. Orr, Jr, age 75, of Diamondhead, passed away on January 16, 2022, in Slidell, LA

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joyce H. Orr; a son, Greg Ballard; a brother, David “Stew” Orr; 5 grandchildren, Geoffrey, Chelsea, Sydney, Ryan, and Gregg; a sister-in-law, Carla Ramsey; a brother-in-law, Steve Ramsey; nieces, Lauren Ramsey, and Kimberly Farrar (Jordan); great-niece, Ella Farrar; a great-nephew, William Farrar; and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Orr was a native of Gulfport and was a longtime resident of Diamondhead.  He was a 1965 graduate of Gulfport High School and later attended Ole Miss.  He served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.  He spent his entire career in the oil industry and retired from Exxon in 2019.  He loved playing golf with his brother-in-law and his friends.  He was a Corvette enthusiast and was an avid Ole Miss fan.

Frank loved to tell stories and jokes.  Making others laugh and bringing smiles to their faces was of great joy to him.  He was respected , liked and loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

“When god chose a young man named Frank to cross my path, my life changed forever. The gentle, funny way he spoke tickled me so. It all started at work when he saw I had a bouquet of flowers and asked “ Oh are those for me? No, of course not. This continued for several days, so I thought I would make him happy and surprised him with a bouquet of his own. Love began to bloom, for now I knew God had placed him in my pathway for a reason. His love of life was contagious and his warm smile was reassuring, which is why I knew he was the right one for me.

His humorous jokes and stories filled our lives with joy and laughter and you all know he could tell a good story. Our everlasting garden continued to grow through the years . He unconditionally loved me and even in this time I can feel his warm embrace. I never knew a man this kind, funny, forgiving and thoughtful, and I needed lots of forgiving. He was perfect just the way God created him.

He is now safe and whole in the Kingdom of Heaven with his mom and dad, my mom and dad, good friends, like Jerry, Rudy and others, and of course his best dog buddy Moi. I know they are holding you in their warm, loving embrace. Even though my heart break and there is an unrepairable hole in my heart, I know your love will always surround me.

I miss you and long for your hugs and kisses, but I will see you again.

Hotty Toddy my love.”
