Doris Ladner

Doris Marie Ladner, age 85, of Lizana, passed away May 9, 2022, in Gulfport, MS.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon “Bud” Reed Ladner; 3 sisters, Patricia Lizana, Peggy Lander, and Darnell Lander; 2 brothers, Vermon Lee Saucier and Vilden Saucier; and niece Jennifer Hinton.

She is survived by sister Eula Lizana, granddaughter Brooke Snare, numerous nieces and nephews and a son.

Doris was a devoted Catholic at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. She loved to get together with her sisters and niece playing card games and laughing until they couldn’t anymore. If they weren’t playing cards, they were burning the phone lines up calling each other back and forth to catch up. Doris never left her house without having her nails painted, perfect hair and lipstick on…. even if she was just walking down to see the neighbors! She liked to spend her free time taking care of her yard, planting flowers and making sure her yard always looked perfect. Though she loved many things, her favorite was sitting on the porch with her loving husband, Bud, telling him what was going on in the newspapers and sales (even if he was sleeping or had his hearing aids off most of the time). Doris was very loved and will be missed by many.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 2:00 PM at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lizana. A visitation for family will begin at 12:30 PM and friends at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Wolf River Cemetery.
