Cheryl, 60. Of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, passed on September 10, 2020 in Ocean Springs.

Cheryl Longfellow was born in New Castle, Indiana to Janet Smith and Leonard Snowden. She received her BSN in Nursing at IU East in Richmond, Indiana. Cheryl spent her early nursing career at Ball Memorial and Reid Hospital. She moved to Mississippi in 2007 where she continued her career at Ocean Springs Hospital. She selflessly dedicated her life to the well-being and treatment of others. Cheryl lived for her children and grandchildren. Her selfless love and legacy will live on through them.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her dad, Forest Smith, her great-niece Kaitlynne Jennings, and her grandparents George and Harriett Hinshaw.

Cheryl is survived by her son, Michael Hilling (Natalie); twin daughters, Ashley Stonebraker (Lisa), Amanda Longfellow (Justin Branning); and granddaughter, Shaylin Hilling; her sisters, Karol Messer and Marcia Burns (Denny); brother, Buster Smith (Karen); her mother, Janet Smith; her Aunt, Donna Hall; Grandchildren including Kadence Branning, Haleigh Perkins, Hope Longfellow, Harmony Longfellow, Kambree Hilling, Hendrix Longfellow, Hazel Longfellow, Ashtyn Stonebraker and Zephyn Stonebraker; and her nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and dear friends.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Ocean Springs Hospital, her family away from family.

Friends are invited to join the family for visitation on Saturday, September 19th from 12 to 2 p.m., with the Celebration of Life Service at 2 p.m., at Northwood Church, 14281 O'Neal Road, Gulfport. The family request, "Please come dressed in bright clothes or your favorite scrubs." We can hear our mom saying “don’t mourn over me, instead celebrate!”

Out of respect for the current pandemic’s guidelines, please observe requirements for masks and social distancing.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Northwood Church in Cheryl’s name.
