Barbara L. McLaurin, 85, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, in Biloxi.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Colbert H. McLaurin; parents, Delmas Lybrand and Margaret Rushton Manley; son, David Keith McLaurin; and son in law, John S. Nix.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Nix; sons, Michael and Mark McLaurin; daughter in law, Debbie McLaurin; her grandchildren, Brad Nix (Angie), Johneen Nix, Christopher McLaurin (Shannon), Gerrad McLaurin, and Tash St. Arnaud; and her great grandchildren, Makayla Nix, Alyssa Nix, Christopher McLaurin, Jr., Brycen McLaurin, Ayden McLaurin, Kaylee King and Shelby Hudson.

Bobbie was a strong Christian woman.  She belonged to the Cedar Lake United Methodist Church and was active in Sunday school and the United Methodist Women's group.

She enjoyed food and traveling.  All you had to say is "do you want to go?", and the answer was "Yes”, even before you told her where.

She gave as good as she got when it came to joking around and pranks. There was nothing she was afraid of and loved spending time with people. She enjoyed dressing up and looking nice for every occasion.  You rarely saw her in the same thing twice. She had two strong suits--- mothering and hospitality.  She was a true southern, genteel woman.  If you looked up the definition of "mother" in

a dictionary her picture should be there.  She rolled with the punches and loved unconditionally.  She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. She was affectionately known as GiGi to her grandchildren and spoiled them rotten.  She was a mother to not only her children, but many of their friends. She will be sadly missed, but has left a strong legacy for her family, friends and many "adopted" children.
