Anne Davis

March 19, 1958 — July 27, 2020

Long Beach

Anne Conner Davis of Long Beach, MS, passed away in her home on July 27, 2020, at the age of 62. She was preceded in death by her parents, RADM Donald L. and Virginia C. Conner, as well as Jeffrey Conner, her younger brother. She is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, Keith O. Davis; her children and their spouses: Jay and Mandy Levens, Andrew and Stacey Levens, and Jenny Levens and husband Scott Brown; her stepchildren: Melissa and Nathan Stein, Megan Davis, and Lindsay Davis; her older brother, Donald L. Conner (Skip); nine grandchildren plus one on the way; and a loving extended family.

Anne was born in Upstate New York. The daughter of a 2-Star Admiral in the Navy, she also lived on various military bases around the country. Anne received her BSN in nursing from the University of South Alabama and held a 35 year career in nursing all along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Remarkably, her determined spirit allowed her to succeed in the challenges of nursing school while raising a small child and pregnant at the same time.

As a nurse, Anne worked in many areas of the field. Her favorite, however, was pediatrics and would travel to New Orleans, Jackson, and Memorial Hospital in Gulfport over the years. Pediatric and Neo-Natal Intensive Care was a very emotional position, but her tender heart and hands made her wonderful at a her job, and her patients loved her.

Anne enjoyed drinking coffee and watching “Nick at Nite” and “I Love Lucy!” but her greatest joy was cooking for her family. She was a great cook and loved them all dearly.

Anne suffered an eight year battle with a rare form of Parkinson’s disease. She left her body peacefully to return home to be with the Lord. Her passing prompted questions from one of her youngest granddaughters about Heaven and God. Curled up in the lap of her Pa-paw, Keith, she asked the question, “Can Nanny dance now?” Yes. Yes, my dear. As well as she ever could.

Service will be held at First Baptist Church in Long Beach, MS on August 5, 2020.  Visitation will be at 10 AM with a service to follow at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, we ask instead for donations to be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation: www.parkinson.org so that others may receive the much needed help in navigating this debilitating disease. Thank you.
