She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Johnny and Francis Miller; her uncle, Terry Miller; her grandparents, Marvin and Opal West; and her grandparents, Ennis and Margaret Johnson.

Amanda is survived by her parents, Jerry and Charlotte West; her mother, Rhonda West Carver (Charles); her father, Douglas Miller; her siblings, Peggy Ann Lassabe, and Margaret Necaise Baldock (Christopher); her aunt, Rebecca “Becky” Miller Butler; her uncles, Tom Walter Miller and John Cedric Miller; her nephews, Jeffrey Alan Necaise (Jillian), Christopher Scott Necaise (Heather), Ronald Ray Lassabe, Austin Ray Necaise (fiancé Bailey Fisher); her niece, Dr. Lauren Lassabe Shepherd (James); other relatives on all sides of the family, and friends.

Amanda was a graduate of Long Beach High School, attended MS Gulf Coast Community College and Blue Cliff College, and was employed with Fayard Moving and Storage. As a life member of the Girl Scouts, she earned the bronze, silver and gold awards, the Marion Medal, and served as a counselor at Girl Scout summer camps. She competed in several American Beauty Pageants, and was nominated for the Who’s Who of High School Students. She studied American Sign Language and volunteered at the de l’Epee Deaf Center in Gulfport. Her many hobbies included personalizing cups, mugs, glasses, or anything you could put vinyl on. Because of her love for country music and line dancing, she seemed to know every word of every song and every step to every dance. To truly know Amanda was to know life…always a quick wit with a compassionate shoulder for all.
