Zaaron H Allen

April 18, 1965 — May 22, 2025

Gulfport, Mississippi

Zaaron H. Allen, aged 60, died on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Singing River Hospital in Gulfport.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Harold Allen and Beverly Allen, and his siblings Zana Allen (sister), Zane Allen (brother), and Zachary Allen (brother).

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Selena Allen, son Trevor Allen (Brenda), daughter Elizabeth Bellew, and sons Roger Talbot Jr., Jason Talbot, and Matthew Talbot, as well as sisters Zelda Almanza (Rory), Zo Ann Milozzo, and Zena Graham, and 9 grandchildren.

Born in North Carolina, Zaaron was raised in Fulton, NY, where his love of weather began. When he graduated from college, he came to Mississippi to work at Stennis Space Center and started his career with the National Weather Service. He was blessed to work in Pleasant Hill, MO, Lake Charles, LA, Juneau, AK, Elko, NV, Pendleton OR (twice), Pittsburgh, PA, and Jacksonville, FL during his 31 1/2 years with the Weather Service, working different types of weather events and keeping people and property safe, winning multiple awards for his dedication and hard work. His last duty station was Pendelton, OR to work as the Science and Operations Officer (SOO) and his family would like to thank the Meteorologist in Charge (MIC) Michael Vescio for his friendship and assistance when the time came for Zaaron to retire. His health issues required him to retire in 2019, but he still checked the web pages for various offices across the country to stay in the loop (and make the occasional grammar check).

Zaaron loved sports and would support the home team no matter where he lived, but his heart loved the New Orleans Saints and would listen to Kansas City Royals baseball on the radio if the game wasn’t televised. He was a diehard fan of the Syracuse Orange and University of Alabama Crimson Tide and pretty much whoever was playing Florida. He started bowling at a young age and bowled several honor scores during his life as well as winning multiple tournaments. His favorite thing was going to Nationals so he could see “his guys” and bowl. The bowling center was his second home, no matter where he lived. He loved socializing with everyone at the lanes, especially the kids. He was a bowling coach at heart and would help anyone who asked for assistance with their game. He was a past member of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Bowling Association, serving as a Board Member and Tournament Official.

Many thanks to the many doctors and staff at Singing River Hospital Gulfport, Encompass Rehabilitation at Memorial Hospital, the physical therapists at Centric Physical Therapy, and the awesome nurses and techs at the Davita Home Dialysis Centers in Hermiston, OR, St. Mary’s, GA, and D’Iberville, MS for all they did to help him live his best life while also dealing with his many health issues.
