Yvonne Sherer Smith, age 73, of Long Beach, passed away on January 19, 2014, in Long Beach.
She was preceded in death by her son, Frank R. Smith, Jr., and her parents, Robert Sherer and Minnie Morgan.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Frank R. Smith, a daughter, Michele (Luis) Cuellar, 1 brother, Michael (Carolyn) Sherer, 3 grandchildren, Kristina Cuellar, Michael Cuellar, and Nicholas Cuellar, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Smith received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Appalachian State Teachers College and later retired after 30 years of teaching high school in Miami, FL. She was a member of the Long Beach Garden Club and enjoyed painting, writing, and spending time with her family. Her attributes included being a master planner and keeping things well organized.
A prayer service will be held at 10 am Monday, January 27, 2014, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 720 East Beach Blvd., Long Beach. A visitation will be held from 9 - 10 am on Monday.
