Wilson J. David

Mr. Wilson J. David passed away January 16, 2014 in Gulfport, MS. He was born April 1, 1932 to Eno and Essie David in Labadieville, LA. Mr. David lived in Napoleonville, LA until he graduated from Assumption High School in 1950. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force. During his time in the Air Force he was stationed in Texas, Louisiana, Kansas, Japan, Pakistan and Mississippi. Msgt David retired from the Air Force after 20 years in 1970. He then worked for Colonial Bakery, Cornett Moving and Storage and Hancock Bank from which he retired in 1992.
Wilson and his family lived in the Orange Grove area Gulfport, MS since 1964. While stationed in Pakistan Wilson accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He was a member of Success Baptist Church in Saucier, MS.
Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, Eno and Essie David; grandparents, Audressie and Agnes Blanchard, Leon and Laura David and his brother Louis David.
Wilson (Papa) is survived by his wife of 59 years Jo, three children and spouses: Michael and Judi David of Long Beach, MS., Kerwin and Lisa David, Lori and Javier Lozada of Saucier, MS. Also surviving him are his pride and joy the grandchildren: Daniel and Chelsie Lozada, Hattiesburg, MS, Derek and Alicia Lozada, Biloxi, MS, Jason and Casey Lozada of Sherwood AR, Melissa and James (Jimmy) David of Saucier, MS, great grandchildren: Sadie Grace Lozada, Thomas Wilson Lozada, Jonas Lozada, Reese Lozada and Elliott Lozada. He is survived by his sister Winnifred and Edward Landry of Tylertown, MS; sister in law Ione David of Houma, LA.; many nieces and nephews, and by his special love, his poodle Robare.
Special thanks to Jamie, Patrick, Jan, Lisa and Lynn of Gentiva Hospice for their loving care during this trying time. Their good humor and happy faces helped carry us thru this time. We love you all.
The funeral will be at Success Baptist Church on Success Rd. (to the right just past Tradition Parkway) in Saucier, MS on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 1:00 pm.
