Willie Clementine Phelps

Willie Clementine Phelps, of Gulfport, MS, passed away due to natural causes on Monday, November 11, 2013, at the age of 88 in Saint Joseph, MO. Willie was born in Gulfport on January 22, 1925, to Wallace and Celia W. Reyer. She married Vardaman Buddy Phelps on April 06, 1940, and together had seven daughters (one miscarried) and three sons. Their family grew to have twenty-two grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great grandchildren.
Willie is survived by her sisters Rosemary McKay of Saucier, MS, Naomi Parker of Biloxi, MS, Dorothy Jarrell of Gulfport, MS, brothers Sam Reyer of Gulfport, MS, Charles Reyer of McHenry, MS, and Robert Reyer of Mississippi; daughters Janet Ishee of Gulfport, MS, and Mary Ann Wharton of St. Joseph, MO, and son Wallace Phelps, Sr. of Lucedale, MS.
She was predeceased by her mother and father, brothers Douglas, John, and George, sisters Stella, Ella, Josephine and Cecelia, husband and children Marlene Gibson, Emma Lee Mills, Buddy Phelps, Richard Phelps, Audrey Hunt, and Willa Mae Phelps.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 15th, from 5 to 6pm for family and 6 to 8pm for others at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 16th at 10am in the funeral home chapel. She will be laid to rest at Finley Cemetery in Gulfport.
