Willie Culpepper

January 19, 1924 — February 21, 2018

Willie Mae Culpepper, 94, of Gulfport, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018. She was born in Hattiesburg on January 19, 1924.  She was the daughter of William M. and Nancy Elizabeth Woodruff. She grew up in Meridian where she graduated from Meridian High School.
She was married to Joe H. Culpepper, Jr. in 1944. Gulfport was her home for over 50 years. She worked for the MS State Board of Health in Gulfport. She was an active member of Bayou View Baptist Church.
Mrs. Culpepper was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Don S. Culpepper; and her daughter-in-law, Sue P. Culpepper.
Surviving her are her two sons, Joe H. Culpepper, III and his wife, Johnnie, and Billy W. Culpepper; her daughter-in-law, Leisa Culpepper; her six grandchildren, Joe Clint (Becca), Billy Jared (Ellen), Brian & Keith Culpepper, Nancy Yearger (Chris), and Angela Trahan (Brady); and her nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 26th from 11:00 a.m. until 12 Noon at Bayou View Baptist Church, with the Funeral Service beginning at 12 Noon.  Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport, is serving the family and memories may be shared at www.riemannfamily.com
