William "Billy" Jenkins, Jr.

William “Billy” Jenkins, Jr., age 64, a longtime resident of Diamondhead, MS, joined our Lord October 29, 2022.  Billy grew up in the suburbs of Washington, DC and, after graduating from West Nottingham Academy, he joined the Army.  After he retired from the Army, he lived in Florida before settling in Diamondhead to be closer to family.  In Bill’s later years, the joy of his life were his rescued pets, Sam and Skippy, who he always put before himself, and his neighbors and members of Jacob’s Well Baptist Church who provided care and friendship.

Billy was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Rhodes; his father, William Jenkins, Sr.; his stepfather, Thomas Rhodes, Sr., and his half-niece, Christa Taylor.

He was survived by his daughter, Jessica Deitrich; his half-sister, Stephanie Lucas (Don); his stepsisters, Carolyn Rhodes and Valerie Malone; his stepbrother, Thomas Rhodes, Jr. (Shirley); his half-nephew Rick Meyers (Suzanne); his step-niece Catherine Stewart; and grandson.

The graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at 1:30pm at Biloxi National Cemetery.
