William A. Wiemers

William A. Wiemers, III, ""Bill"", age 71, passed away at 8:48 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2013, in DeLisle, MS. Although unexpected, the family is comforted in knowing he is with his Heavenly Father.
Bill was born on August 4, 1942 in New Orleans, LA, to the late Mabel McDowell Wiemers and William A. Wiemers, Jr. He worked in the wholesale seafood industry with Murphy's Seafood in New Orleans, and later as the owner of Bill's Seafood in Chalmette, LA, until 1996. He was then employed as a sales representative for Southeast Safety and Supply in Harahan, LA, until his retirement.
He was a resident of Chalmette for 41 years until Hurricane Katrina, after which he moved to DeLisle and rebuilt the family home. He spent his time working on projects in the yard, hitting golf balls for his yellow Lab, ""Maggie,"" fishing (a lifelong passion), and swapping fishing stories with his buddies John Peranich, Warren Pavolini, and E.J. Parker. He shared his love of the outdoors with his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. He was an avid LSU fan & golfer.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William and Theonise McDowell and paternal grandparents, William A. Wiemers, Sr. and Mabel Beyerback Wiemers.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 49 years, Gayle Ladner Wiemers; one sister, Theonise ""Tee"" Maus (John); three children, Joseph (Denise), Angelle Laviolette (Todd) and Jill Hammac (Greg); five grand-children, Justin Laviolette, Hanna Hammac, Emily Hammac , Casey Laviolette and Jade Ngo; cousins; many nieces and nephews; family, friends, and the members of the Even Par Golf Club.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 9062 Kiln DeLisle Road, Pass Christian, MS 39571 at 12:30 p.m. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 11:30 a.m., followed by a time of family remembrances.
Burial will follow at New DeLisle Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Building Fund, 9062 Kiln DeLisle Road, Pass Christian, MS 39571, or the American Heart Association, www.heart.org
