William Warren "Bill" Powell

William ""Bill"" Warren Powell, Jr., age 81, of Gulfport, passed away on November 1, 2012.
Mr. Powell was born in Virginia to William Warren Powell, Sr. and Mollie Carroll Powell. He served as an air traffic controller in the United States Air Force and retired after 23 years of active duty service to our country. After that active duty, he worked for the Civil Service at Keesler where he worked another 17 years until retirement. He was a member of the Mississippi Seniors Golf Association.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice McQueen Powell; his parents; daughter, Sandra Powell; and his brother, John Powell.
He is survived by his granddaughters, Tisha Powell Posey (Lane) of Long Beach, and Brittany Murch of Gulfport; grandchildren, Kamryn, Carson, and expected Chandler; brother, Leroy R. Powell of Gulfport; and sister, Edith Collins of Ashburn, VA.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 5, 2012, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, from 5-7pm.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Burial with full military honors will take place at Biloxi National Cemetery.
