William A. ""Bill"" Page, Jr., age 71, of Gulfport, passed away November 1, 2015, at his home after his long battle with cancer.
Bill was born in Jackson, MS and spent most of his life there and in Starkville, MS. He graduated from Central High School in Jackson, MS and received his BS Degree from the University of Southern MS.
Bill was a police officer with the Jackson, MS Police Department for almost thirty years and retired in 1997 with the rank of sergeant. He also served with the Mississippi Army National Guard and the reserves, retiring with the rank of Major.
Bill loved to fly. He got his private pilot's license as a young man. He flew with a private air ambulance service for several years before joining the police department. He was a member of the Experimental Air Association and a Jackson flying club for years. When he moved to the Gulf Coast in 2001, he became interested in remote controlled air planes and joined the RCC at Bob Miller Air Field. He spent many hours building and flying his planes with his friends at the field.
His other passion was antique cars. He bought and restored a 1965 Corvette Stingray Coupe and participated in many Cruisin the Coast events. He loved to ride his grandchildren in his Vet.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William A. Page, Sr. and Hazel Walker Page LeBlanc.
He is survived by his wife of over forty-six years, Diana Stokes Page, and two sons, William Josh Page and his wife Amy, and Jeremy Franklin Page and his wife Audrey. He also leaves behind three brothers, Jack Page, Pat Page and Leonard LeBlanc. He is remembered by two nephews, Jason Page and Justin Haslup and his wife Tony, one niece Rachel Haslup, one great nephew, Gage Ratliff, and two sisters in law, Gail Haslup and Patricia Stokes.
The lights of his life were his grandchildren, Madeline, Daniel, Parker, Amy Kate, and Jackson.
