William M. ""Bill"" Packard, age 77 of Vancleave, passed away on July 14, 2013.
Mr. Packard was born in Boston, MA, to Herbert Allan and Gertrude Rose Packard. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1976, retired, and went on to get his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi. He worked for Raytheon and finished his career with Litton where he finally retired in 1999. Bill spent his remaining years breeding German Shepherds, fishing and operating his HAMM radio until 2009, when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Herb A. Packard of Denver, CO.
Mr. Packard is survived by his daughter, Laura Packard of Copperas Cove, TX; his son, William E. Packard and his granddaughter, Heather Tucker, both of Acworth, GA; his son, Charles Packard, and his grandson, Jeffrey Packard, both of Pascagoula; his son, William M. ""Bugsie"" Packard II and his wife, Jennifer, and his granddaughters, Lexi and Brooklynn, all of Saucier; his niece, Benita (Peggy) Packard of Littleton, CO; his nephew, Lawrence Packard and his wife, Suzanne, and their twin daughters, Madison and Taylor, all of San Antonio, TX.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, at 11:45 a.m. Visitation will be held one prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors provided by the U.S. Air Force.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Veteran's Outreach, 15 Pritchett Drive, Collins, MS 39428.
