William Frederick "Bill" Owens

William 'Bill' Frederick Owens, age 80, died in Ocean Springs, August 26, 2016 after a brief illness. He was born in Newton, IA March 15, 1936, the son of Hugh Glynn Owens and Verna Dillabough Owens. His parents and son, Steven William Owens predeceased him. He lived in Minnesota prior to moving to Gulfport in 1997.
Bill served in the Air Force during the Korean War; following his military service he enjoyed a career in sales and advertising. He was a friend to all and very much loved by all who knew him.
He is survived by his former wife, Jimmie Nell McKenzie Owens and daughter, Tammy Janikowski of Ocean Springs, and grandchildren Joseph Janikowski and John Janikowski both of Flowood, and Erin Nelle Gentilini of Bloomington, MN.
The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 12-2 PM at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. Burial will be Hurricane Creek Baptist Church Cemetery near Columbia, MS.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to charity.
