William D Long passed away July 22, 2015, in Gulfport.
He was born September 11, 1924 in Camden, West Virginia.
He was a WWII veteran and a career navy deep sea diver, he spent extensive time on the U.S.S. Healy. He was honored multiple times for his service including the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. His favorite pastimes were golf and dancing.
He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Long in 1975.
Mr. Long is survived by his 2 children Patrick M. Long and Barbara Ann Palmore; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
The memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport at 2:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to The Armed Forces Retirement Home, 1800 Beach Dr., Gulfport, MS.
