Mr. William Leslie Levins ""Bill"", age 83, resident of Bay Minette, AL, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015, in Gulfport, MS. He is a native of Perdido, Baldwin County, Al, and a graduate of Murphy High School in Mobile, AL. Bill served in the United States Air Force from 1949-1951. He also served as a Patrolman/Firefighter for Satsuma Police Dept., Deputy Sheriff for Mobile County Sheriff's Dept., and Chief of Security for Courtaulds North America, Transportation South, Birmingham, AL. He was a member of the Free Masons and received his 50 year pin in 2014 from the Mason Lodge of Satsuma, AL. Bill's hobbies included reading and traveling and he was an avid Alabama football fan.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Odell Reeves Levins; his parents, William Taylor and Dora Frances Levins; one brother, Ray Levins; and one sister, Betty Roberts.
His survivors include his 3 daughters, Benita Hughes (Eddy), Linda Johnson (Vic), Mary Lee Kilpatrick (Dennis); 3 sons, Timothy Levins, Gaylon Levins (Cheryl), Leslie Levins (Dorcas); 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Ronnie Levins (Linda Sue).
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Pine Grove Cemetery, 16721-16757 Pine Grove Road Extension East, Bay Minette, AL. A visitation will follow at the home of Mr. Levins.
In memory of Mr. Levins, the family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Memorial Hospital Foundation for the Oncology Fund at P.O. Box 940 Gulfport, MS 39502.
