William Raleigh "Bill" Hickman

William ""Bill"" Raleigh Hickman, age 74 and a resident of Long Beach, MS, died on Thursday, November 21, 2013, in Long Beach.
Bill was a native of Girard, GA and had been a resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast since 1974. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #228 in Norcross, GA and a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach. Bill retired after 27 years of service in the U.S. Navy, having served two tours of duty in Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Evangeline Long Hickman and Willie Warren Hickman; his daughter, Mary Ann Hickman, a granddaughter, Amy Michelle Walters; a brother, Willis Donald (Donnie) Hickman; a son-in-law, Robert Wallace, Sr.; his brothers-in-law, R.J. ""Buddy"" Cuevas and Leroy B. (Romona) Hood and four great grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 40 years, Shirley Cuevas Hickman of Long Beach; his children, Deborah (Roy) Albert of Gulfport, Larry Allen Penton of Houston, TX, Dinah Wallace of Pembroke, MA, Tammy (Clyde) Wilson of Statesboro, GA, Tonia (Jimmy) Miller of Gulfport, and Candy (Jerry) Dubuisson of Pass Christian; his siblings, Hazel (Marvin) Cowart-Saxon of Savannah, GA, Helen (Dr. Billy) Davis of Hephzibah, GA, Cecil (Rebecca) Hickman of Waynesboro, GA, Thomas (Joan) Hickman of Brooklet, GA, and Wanda (Stephen) White of Girard, GA; his sister-in-law, Eva Hickman of Brooklet, GA; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, November 25, 2013, at 12:30pm at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road in Long Beach, where friends may visit from 11am until the service. Entombment will follow at Gulf Pines Cemetery in Long Beach.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Thomas Catholic Church, P.O. Box 1529, Long Beach, MS 39560 or to one's favorite charity.
