William Anson Harris, III, age 65, of Long Beach, passed away on, Wednesday, January 29, 2014.
Mr. Harris was born in Littleton, NH, to William Anson Harris, Jr. and Phyllis Peck Harris. He retired from the Naval Oceanographic Office where he was a physical scientist. He volunteered at Quarles Elementary where his wife teaches, and he loved spending time with the children who referred to him as ""Billy Boy"". He enjoyed spending his summers on the family farm in New Hampshire.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Nancy Harris of Long Beach, MS; his sister, Linda Beaton of Bangor, ME; and his brother, Howard Harris of Whitefield, NH.
Visitation will be held in the Christian Life Center at First United Methodist Church, Long Beach, on Monday, February 3, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until the memorial service at 5:30p.m.
