William Russell Bobinger

William Russell Bobinger, Jr., 69, died Saturday, January 12, 2013. Russell was born June 24, 1943. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Russell Bobinger, Sr. and Angeline Tolar Watson, and his grandparents, Clyde and Pearl Tolar. He is survived by his son; William Russell Bobinger, III, his daughter; Karlotta Gail Bonilla, five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Larry Bobinger (Beverly), David L. Bobinger (Carolyn), and Kenneth F. Bobinger (Karla); his step-father, Robert H. Watson; step-sister, Vicki Bingham; and his step-brother, Robert Watson, Jr.
Russell grew up in Handsboro, MS and was a member of Handsboro Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Gulfport High School, and after graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served as a signalman on the destroyers, USS Furse and the USS Mullinnix DD 944. His tours of duty included the Mediterranean and Vietnam. He was employed at CE Natco as a pipe fitter, tubing bender and instrumentation man, as well as a crane operator. He retired from B.E. & K. Construction. Russell was a number one Saints Fan and an avid bass fisherman. He won many tournaments and club championships for his fishing. In later years he enjoyed vegetable gardening and raising chickens.
Visitation will be held, prior to services, Wednesday, January 16, 2013, from 9:30am to 11:00 am with a service following at 11:00am, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport. Interment with military honors will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Tributes may be offered to the family at www.riemannfamily.com.
