William ""Bill"" Barnhill, age 83 of Kiln, MS, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. Barnhill and Mary Alice Barnhill; his brothers, Hubert Barnhill and Cy Lamar Barnhill; and his sisters, Rebecca Lombardo and Peggy Green.
Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara Ann Temple Barnhill; his children, Gregory William Barnhill and his wife, Lori, Christine Elizabeth Barnhill Tramel and her husband, Scott, Kenneth Wayne Barnhill, and Timothy Glen Barnhill; his sister, Mary Bettye Mills of Slidell, LA; his brother, James Dennis Holmes of Pleasanton, CA; his grandchildren, Gregory W. Gilmore, Bailey E. Barnhill, Blake E. Barnhill, Joshua Colby Barnhill, Buck Tramel, Ken Barnhill, Jr., Amanda Sprowls, Timothy Barnhill, Jr., Kayla Barnhill, Daniel Barnhill, Amber Barnhill, and Allie Barnhill; and his great grandchildren, Gregory Gilmore, Jr., Kayleigh Gilmore, Nathan Barnhill, Lorianne Sprowls, Madison Sprowls, Tatum Barnhill, Canaan Barnhill and Chason Barnhill.
Mr. Barnhill was born in Louisville, MS, resided in Slidell, LA, and in Kiln, MS for many years. He worked at Belou and Co., New Orleans, before he founded Bill Bar Construction, Inc. Bill is widely regarded as an expert in construction and was highly respected by his peers. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and even had his own charter boat company and held a captain's license for most of his adult life. He also enjoyed gardening, traveling and listening to music. A loving and kind man, he was greatly admired by his family, friends and associates. Bill will be deeply missed by those whose lives he touched, which always left an indelible, positive mark wherever he went.
A visitation will be held from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, August 26, 2016, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Rd., Pass Christian. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Faith Assembly of God Church, corner of Highways 43 and 603, Kiln, with a visitation from 10:00 AM until the service. Interment will follow the funeral service in St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
