Wilda Mamie Moran

Wilda Ladner Moran was born in the Ladner Community, the fifth child of Delery Joseph and Cevelia Rose Ladner. She attended Pass Christian High School until her 11th year when she had to leave school to care for her mother, who had been partially paralyzed by a stroke. She cared for her aged parents until their deaths. Wilda also cared for her two younger siblings and a niece until they were grown. Throughout her life, she devoted herself to giving to others, friends, family, the community and the church, at no small sacrifice to herself.
Wilda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.P. Moran, Jr.; her 10 year old daughter, Lana Marie Moran; her grandson, Herbert J. Stelly, Jr.; her niece and foster daughter, Emilie Ladner; her sisters, Valina Ladner, Clara McLeod, Nita Achee and Adele LaFontaine; and her brothers, Norman Ladner and Merlin Ladner.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary G. Stelly; her son in law, Herbert J. Stelly, Sr., her granddaughter, Yvette L. Stelly; her great grandson, J.P. Stelly; and J.P.'s mother, Lisa Stelly Guidry, along with many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to everyone at Driftwood Nursing Home, Notre Dame Hospice, Delarie Maddox, Valerie Malley, Sabine Ladner, Patrice Torricelli, Dwayne LaFontaine, and Margie Stiles for their help in caring for Wilda Moran during her last days.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 9062 Kiln-DeLisle Road. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM followed by burial in St Joseph at Rotten Bayou Cemetery, Diamondhead, MS.
