Wesley Scott Strickland

Wesley “Wes” Scott Strickland, age 56 of Gulfport, passed away Friday, May 12, 2023.

Born in Hobbs, NM, Wes grew up in Gulfport, MS and graduated from Gulfport High School. He then attended and graduated from Bishop State where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy. Wes is a United States Army veteran. After his time in the Army, Wes began working with his uncle at Eagle Express Lube in Ocean Springs.  Most recently, Wes worked as a real estate agent with Berkshire Hathaway where he found his professional passion. Wes loved to cook and was very creative in his dishes that he would come up with. He could whip up any good meal with whatever was in the refrigerator. He would always help those in need and would give a stranger the shirt off his back.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Eugene Strickland and Juanita Carlile Strickland and his brother, Sam Seay.

Wes is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sheri Mendoza Strickland; his step children who he raised as his own, Georgia Bergeron (Rob) and Mark Hollis; his brother, Danny (Cheryl) Seay; his nephews, Austin (Holly) Seay and Crystal (Jeff) Meadows; his step mother, Judy Strickland; his grandchildren, Rebekah, Riley and Raegan Rygh, Harper Bergeron and Taylah Hollis; and his great nieces and nephews, Victoria and Ally Seay and Stella and Wylder Meadows.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 23, 2022 at Bible Baptist Church, Gulfport.  Graveside will follow at 12:30 pm at Biloxi National Cemetery.  Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport, is serving the family.  Memories may be shared at www.riemannfamily.com
